You could have asked 50 people what type of format the Zurich Classic of New Orleans switched to and I don’t think 10 could have answered correctly.

Today proved to be loaded with fun and excitement AND quick rounds. The average round today was right around 4 hours.

That’s awesome know something everybody involved with amateur and professional golf has asked for.

The format today is officially called foursome or alternate shot. One player tees off and the next shot is hit by his partner and so on and so on.

The 2 man team’s we picked by the pros themselves. Some are just plain friends, we have brothers, same college, etc., etc. pretty cool though.

Tomorrow everybody plays their own ball and they will get a little wild no crazy and you will see shots taken that most players don’t normally take.

If your partner hits in the middle of the fairway you can try and bust one way down the fairway. Gonna be a blast to see. They resemble Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup formats.

Currently in a tie for the lead at -6 under par are the 2 teams consisting of Kyle Stanley & Ryan Ruffels along with the team of Jordan Spieth & Ryan Palmer.

We have a 4 way tie for third place with K.J. Choi & Charlie Wi, Ben Martin & Ben Crane, Jonas Blixt & Cameron Smith, Charley Hoffman & Nick Watney all at -5 under par.

The favorites were Jason Day & Rickie Fowler and they are at -1 under after the first round.

The other favorite team of Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson ended up at even par.

This is going to be fun to watch. Don’t miss tomorrow’s round because it will be exciting!
