Browns running back Montario Hardesty is not only falling victim to bad health, he could be another athlete that falls victim to the Cleveland Curse. Hardesty came to the Cleveland Browns with a lot of promise. He was a high second round pick that has not panned out thus far.

Hardesty spent the entire 2012 off-season getting his body in to the best shape of his playing career. He did show promise running the football last season rushing for a higher average than the team’s number one pick, Trent Richardson. Hardesty is having his own health problems this season.

He damaged his thumb on his right hand and is wearing a club to protect it. Not only is his thumb interfering with his chance to make the 53 man roster in Cleveland, it is now being reported he will undergo a procedure to have his knee surgically repaired.

How long will the Cleveland Browns be patient with their veteran running back who has spent many games on the side lines? The team could release him before the season starts and with Joe Banner calling the shots in Cleveland, many are expecting that to happen.

Hardesty could be another in the long list of Cleveland top picks that couldn’t work out in Cleveland. The town could be cursed. Hardesty has the talent, but the nagging injuries have taken a toll on his ability to show the team he can help them win.
