On a day the Detroit Lions played in Cleveland, the experts were worried about the Browns defense and whether or not Calvin Johnson would have a good game. Little did they know Stafford wouldn’t need the full services of Johnson.
There would be a new star in the making, his name is Joseph Fauria and he caught 3 passes for 3 touchdowns to help his Detroit Lions get their 4th win of the season. The Lions came out in the second half after heading to the locker room trailing by 10 points at the half.
The Lions offense came out smoking in the 3rd period and Stafford and his supporting staff would score 24 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Browns 31-17. It was one of the best turnarounds the Lions have made this season.
Stafford wasn’t going to be denied and he would find a guy in Fauria who would stand up and make the plays to get the job done. Stafford found himself a new weapon today. He has a receiver who makes it look easy to get onto the end zone with Fauria.
The Lions have shown they now have more than just offensive weapon. The team used Reggie Bush in the second half to set up the Stafford to Fauria Td’s effectively. Bush made the big plays when needed and Fauria put the finishing touch on it catching everything that Stafford threw his way for a touchdown.
The Lions played a well thought out second half of football today and turned around a very questionable start to their day and produced a win. The defense stepped up big in the second half and didn’t let the Browns score a point.
It was a team effort by the Lions in this game and it paid off huge moving them to 4-2 on the season. Joseph Fauria, is a Un- drafted player out of UCLA.
