When Urban Meyer and his Ohio State Buckeyes take to the field for the 2013 season, it is going to be hard to reproduce the perfect season the Buckeyes had in 2012. But, this is Urban Meyer and if anyone can do it it’s him. Meyer demands perfection from his teams.
The Ohio State Buckeyes should be able to have a great season, will they go undefeated? It is difficult to predict what kind of season a team is going to have, but when Meyer is the head coach you know the team is going to play well.
The key factor is avoiding injuries. If the Buckeyes can do that they should be able to get real close to having a perfect season. If they can’t who knows what could happen. Just a few days ago Meyer talked about National Title expectations, he said “We’re not there yet.’
This could be Meyer being humble. He knows it would be premature to talk about going after the National Title before the season has gotten under way. The Buckeyes could be a contender, Meyer knows that but it is important to keep the team focused on one game at a time.
Meyer doesn’t take failure lightly, he is a guy that expects the best and he won’t settle for anything less. If the Buckeyes have the same kind of success in Meyer’s sophomore season as they had in his rookie season, then I expect them to compete for a National title no matter what Meyer says.
It is going to be a real interesting year in Columbus, Ohio and Urban Meyer will be at the center of it.
