Last season when Bruce Arians parted ways with the Pittsburgh Steelers, we heard from their star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He was upset because he thought the Steelers were a family organization.

Today, we saw how that family treats their relatives. They made it know that a player who has been a part of the Steelers organization for the past 9 seasons, is not welcome back into the family home.  Harrison is now officially done with the team he did so much for.

Harrison left it all on the field each time he played with the Steelers, the team used him up and then kicked him out like he was an intruder. Sure, James Harrison made some mistakes. He could have taken less money when the Steelers made him an offer this off-season, but he didn’t.

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t any different from any other football team. Harrison is now 34-years-old and the Steelers are no longer willing to take a chance with the big man. It doesn’t matter what he did in the past. He is now an outcast.

This should be a lesson to anyone who plays in Pittsburgh. Yes, they are a great organization while you are useful to them, but when they are though with you it is over. Big Ben was right last season when he thought the way they treated Arians wasn’t right. He was right when he questioned the family ties.

There are none in Pittsburgh.
