Where in the world did this Detroit Lions team come from? We certainly didn’t see this coming. They look good, real god. The defense is playing outstanding and the offense is playing well too. People are going to get mighty excited if the Lions can keep it up.

Detroit held Adrian Peterson to just 93 rushing yards today. Meanwhile the Detroit offense decided to light it up behind the arm of Matthew Stafford and the rushing and receiving game of Reggie Bush.

Bush ran for 90 yards and caught passes for another 101 yards. He is quickly becoming one of Stafford’s favorite players in the Lions offense. If Bush can continue to put performance together like the one he had today, he is going to make Stafford’s job easy.

Stafford needed a guy that could light things up the way Bush can. Other team’s are going to have to be concerned with the threat Bush brings to the Lions backfield. This makes it easy for Stafford to spread the ball around to others.

Bush well be the center of attention and Stafford will be able to pick defenses apart with his laser like passes to relievers down field only drawing single coverage. Teams will be so concerned with stopping Bush they will forget about someone.

When the Lions beat the Vikings today 34-24 it had to wake some people up. The Lions could be for real this season and they could just make the play-offs with this kind of threat coming out of the back-field.

We know it is early, but you have to admit we didn’t see this coming this soon in Detroit…..
