It is starting to look like the PGA Tour of old at the World Golf Championships from Doral. The top of the leader board is full of the best veterans playing on the tour today. You have Tiger Woods sitting alone at the top at 12 under par.

The Irishman Graeme McDowell is alone in second place and the 2 left hand-er Phil Mickelson and Steve Striker are in a tie for 3rd place at 10 under par.

The weekend is shaping up very nicely at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral in Miami, Florida. If these guys can continue to find the birdies they found today, we are in for a real shootout come Sunday.

Woods made 7 birdies in his second round before his first bogey came at the 14th hole. At the time of this article Tiger was the only one of the top 3 players still on the course. He dropped to 12 under with the bogey but still held a one stroke lead over McDowell, at least for the time being.

Mickelson looked a little more like the Phil we have come to love over the years. He made 7 birdies and 2 bogeys in his second round.

McDowell did what he seems to always do. He went out and made 5 birdies in his second round without making one mistake to go along with his mistake proof first round that yielded him 6 birdies in his opening round. At least when you watch Phil Play you never know what he is going to do next.

With McDowell, you pretty much know the guy is going to keep moving forward if he can.

Steve Striker only made one bogey in his second round and still matched the 67 he shot yesterday by making 6 birdies of his own. You can see that these guys are having a birdie fest down at Doral today. The Weekend is going to one heck of a golf tournament.
