Well, all eyes at the Farmers Open, were on Tiger Woods today as he teed up for only his 3rd golf tournament in as many years.

Judging by his performance yesterday in the pro-am everyone thought he would play pretty good and they were right!

One over on the front and one under on the back for an even par 72.

Puts him in a tie for 84th but he had some of the “Tiger of old” shots today. The birdies looked SPECIAL!

I hope he makes the cut and can find a way to finish in the top 10!!

Tony Finau actually had 2 bogeys en route to a -7 under par 65. What a round of golf for this fine gentleman of the game!

I really enjoy Tony he has always treated me with respect and is very approachable.

We’ve talked him in the past and it was never more true than it was today…..when he is hot he is HOT!

He kept hitting greens and making putts and the last I heard, that’s how you win golf tournaments!

Nipping at his heels, only one shot off, is Ted Potter Jr and Ryan Palmer.

Ted broke his ankle last year and has been out of the game recouping. Looks like the well deserved rest hasn’t hurt his game.

He is a lefty like Phil and maybe that helps at Torrey Pines?

Ryan Palmer won his first tournament last year and is really excited to get another win.

Solid golf from those two men left them at -6 under par after the first round.

Speaking of Phil Mickelson, he ended day one -2 under par and in a tie for 35th place.

This is a really tough course.

It’s where Tiger Woods has won 8 times just like he has done at Bay Hill.

We have another US Open coming back to this venue in the near future.

I really believe the old saying that cream does rise to the top.

Tiger is rusty and dusty but if he can fire a 4 or 5 under round tomorrow he may just be in the hunt come this weekend.

It will do a lot for the game. Can you imagine, the young bucks today are guys who grew up watching him on tv and he is only 42.

There is a win this year for Tiger…….bet on it!
