In his first season as the Ohio State Buckeyes head coach, Urban Meyer took his team to an undefeated season finishing the year with a victory over their arch rivals from up north and across the Ohio Border. The Ohio State Buckeyes got their 12th win over the Michigan Wolverines beating them 26-21 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus Ohio. Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Buckeyes team may not have played for a bowl appearance but they did make a statement that the OHIO STATE BUCKEYES are back. This team didn’t play the best this season, they did play well enough to get 12 wins and they have plenty of room to improve.
Braxton Miller took a beating at the hands of Michigan’s defense today. They got to Miller several times throughout the game and they roughed him up pretty well. None of that seamed to bother Miller who came back in the second half and continued to do what he has done for his Buckeyes all season long, he led his team to a win and with the win he now knows what it feels like to go undefeated. There was a scary moment in the 4th quarter when Miller took off with the football. Miller pick up a ton of yardage and immediately grabbed his right calf after the run. Lucky enough for the Buckeyes it was only a cramp.
The Buckeyes had to settle for 4 field goals against the Michigan Wolverines who showed they could play tough defense in today’s game. Carlos Hyde had a great day rushing the ball for the Buckeyes, he carried the ball 26 times and picked up 146 yards on the ground and Ohio State continued to grind out their way to the win. Miller had 20 carries for 57 yards, it wasn’t exactly his best running game but it was enough to avoid making costly mistakes that could have handed the game to the Wolverines.
Corey Brown led the Buckeyes in receiving with 8 catches for 95 yards and one touchdown. The Ohio State Buckeyes did it, they came into a tough season filled with NCAA obstacles to overcome and with Urban Meyer leading the way the Buckeyes were able to put all the sanctions behind them and focus on football. The Buckeyes overcame and went onto an undefeated season. Congratulations to the Ohio State Buckeyes and their new head coach Urban Meyer…..
