The Baltimore ravens have said they were making it a priority to sign their Line-Backer Dannell Ellerbe. The team and Ellerbe’s people are certainly taking this right down to the wire. I understand the Ravens point of waiting to see just how much cap space they were able to clear.

The team has only hours left to get a deal done before tomorrow at 4:00p.m. when it is OK for other teams to sign free agents. The Ravens can’t afford to lose Ellerbe. The guy is too valuable a player not to sign him to a long-term deal.

According to reports coming out of  NFL dot com, the Ravens and Ellerbe people are scheduled to continue talks first thing on Tuesday morning. Ellerbe has played in Baltimore since 2009, he has been a good player and in 2012 he had 4.5 sacks.

He also forced 2 fumbles last season. Ellerbe had 66 tackles and 23 assists last season. He defended 2 passes as well. The guy is an all around line-backer and the Ravens have to find a way to get a deal done in the A.M. Otherwise they risk another team stealing him away by 4:00P.M.
