Can Tiger Woods win the 142nd British Open? He got to Muirfield, hit some balls and went right out and played nine holes of golf. He doesn’t want to push it but he did say the elbow feels fine. Woods last played the historic course in the 2002 British Open.

He had himself in position to do well, but that was before a storm rolled in. Woods shot one of his highest rounds at Muiffield. He shot 81 in the 3rd round. If the weather turns this course can be one of the worst to play in. With strong winds and rain falling, it can give the best of players a rough time.

Woods is looking to claim his 15th major championship this week. He has a tough task ahead of him after taking a few weeks off. If Tiger can play well in the first 2 rounds and keep himself in position, he could have a chance come the weekend.

The fairways at Muirfield are extremely hard due to the fact it has been so dry there this year. One miss hit could send Tigers left elbow into a fit. You have to wonder if that is why Woods only played nine holes.

The field is going to tough this year at the open championship and Woods will face a bunch of guys that can take it low. If he is going to win this week he is going to have to be on top of his game. I just don’t see it happening.
