Miguel Cabrera faced one of his toughest opponents in last nights game. He suffered 3 strikeouts before he hit a home run in the 8th off of Indians rookie Danny Salazar. The Indians brought this kid up to start in only his second Major League game.

No other pitcher has been able to strike out Cabrera 3 times in a game this season. Miguel is a strong hitter and he proved he could over-come the Indians pitcher when he hit a home run blast in the 8th to show Salazar you can’t win them all.

Cabrera’s blast gave the Tigers the lead going to the bottom of the 8th. It was a game that every run counted in and the game went into extra innings. The Tigers would pull off the win when they were able to score 2 runs in the 14th when Prince Fielder sent a double to deep left center field.

The Tigers have won the last 3 over the Indians and they have one game left between them and the sweep. The Tigers now have a 6 game lead over the Indians and it looks like they own the Indians this season.

Cabrera must have a lot of respect for the Tribes rookie Salazar. He did a great job holding Cabrera to just one hit in the game. That is not an easy task. Cabrera is one of the best hitters in major league baseball.
