It is a done deal, Tiger Woods has won for the 8th time at Bay Hill. He also reclaims the Worlds Number 1 ranking by doing so.  Woods was being chased by Ricky Fowler and things were getting interesting until Fowler made a triple bogey 8 at the par 5 16th.

Tiger was only leading by 2 at the time after he made a bogey at the par 4 15th. Woods would go on to make bogey at the 18th but it didn’t matter at that point, he was already clear of the filed by 3 strokes and nobody was going to catch him.

This was Tigers 78th career win on the PGA Tour. It was his 3rd win of the 2013 season. Woods was already the clear favorite to win the Masters, with this win today, he really has to have the advantage going to Augusta.

Justin Rose finished in second place and Mark Wilson and three others including Rickie Fowler came in tied for 3rd place.

In Tigers final round he played 15 holes today after the rain delay caused the tournament to have a Monday finish. Tigers made 5 birdies in his final round of which 4 of them came today. He also carded 3 bogeys which all came his way today. It has to feel great for Woods to reclaim the World’s Number 1 ranking after struggling with his game for the past few years.

Of course he had some help with his putting and he is putting better than we have seen him put in a while. If Tiger continues to play the way he is playing of late, he could claim another major or 2 before the years end. He is only 4 off the record set by the greatest golfer that ever lived if you measure by winning majors, Jack Nicklaus.

The way Tiger is playing, that record may not hold up too much longer.
