Tiger Woods looking to claim his 15th major championship, has to be hoping day 2 at the US Open produces better results for him that day 1 did. Woods struggles continued at Merion. He finished the front nine making 4 bogies and 2 birdies.

The course was playing somewhat easy on the first day. After all the rain that arrived am Merion the greens were soft and they we receptive to shots. If the place drys out, the greens are going to be tougher.

Woods still has to finish his first round and then the players will start their second round. Tiger is going to have to play a lot of golf on day 2 of the US Open. He has to find his game if he wants to claim the 113th US Open.

At this point he doesn’t look like he is going to be able to do it. Tiger is only 6 strokes back of the leader, but the way his game has looked over the last couple of weeks, it is clear that he is struggling. The question is whether those struggles will carry into day 2 of the US open.
