HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Matthew Fitzpatrick, Yuta Ikeda and Louis Oosthuizen are the latest professionals to commit to the 49th annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event is being held April 10-16, 2017 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Previous commitments include past champions Stewart Cink, Jim Furyk, Branden Grace, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Brandt Snedeker and Boo Weekley. Fan favorites including Luke Donald, Jason Dufner, Ernie Els, Ian Poulter and Webb Simpson are also scheduled to compete for a share of the $6.5 million purse.
Fitzpatrick competed in his first RBC Heritage in 2014 when he was still an amateur. He finished T23 and turned pro later that year. The Englishman carded his first International victory at the 2015 British Masters and earned two more international wins in 2016. He is currently ranked #30 in the Official World Golf Rankings. He will be making his third start at Harbour Town.
Ikeda is #42 in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Chiba, Japan native has earned 16 international victories. He will be competing in the RBC Heritage for the first time.
Oosthuizen is #28 in the Official World Golf Rankings. The South African turned pro in 2002 and his one PGA TOUR victory came at the 2010 Open Championship. Louis has carded 12 international wins. He will be making his second start at Harbour Town.
