There is no doubt about Jay Culter playing better this season. He now has the Chicago Bears in first place in the NFC North and we can give some credit to head coach Marc Trestman who worked with Cutler this off season to prepare him to do battle on the field this season.
Cutler is a better quarterback because the Bears have a head coach that understands what it takes to play at the quarterback position in the NFL. Cutler didn’t have the best game of his career against the Giants but he played well enough to get the win by not making mistakes that cost the team a win.
Cutler threw for 262 yards and 2 touchdowns and came away from the game with a quarterback rating. He had a lot of help from the Bears defense who intercepted Manning a couple of times and one of those Int’s led to a Bears defensive touchdown.
Cutler is ranked at number 5 among NFL quarterbacks. He has thrown for 1,630 yards this season and has only 6 interceptions in 6 games he has played in. He has an overall QB ranking of 95.2 and has completed 65.9 percent of his passes.
Cutler is performing well but he still has room for improvement and the Bears know that. He is getting better with every game he plays in. The credit for that should go to Marc Trestman.
