Tiger Woods isn’t the only Woods that plays great golf. His niece, Cheyenne Woods just won the Australian Ladies Masters. Woods  was able to hold off 17-year-old Australian amateur Minjee Lee by two strokes.

Woods shot a final round of 4-under 69 at Royal Pines to finish at 16-under 276.She is now a Masters winner joining her Uncle Tiger with a Masters win.

You have to wonder if she ever got any tips from her famous Uncle when it came to her golf swing. The 23-year-old Cheyenne Woods, showed Tiger isn’t the only Woods with power in the golf swing.

Cheyenne birdied the par-5 15th to open a two-stroke lead, hitting a wedge from about 120 yards to 4 feet. That’s a good poke for a women with a wedge in her hand.

She would then birdie the par 5 18th showing she too can get to the par fives. Cheyenne Woods is the daughter of Tiger’s half brother, Earl Dennison Woods Jr.

She turned professional in 2012 after an All-America career at Wake Forest.

She has one other professional win. In 2012 she won a SunCoast mini-tour event.

Things haven’t come easy for this Woods. She failed to earn a spot on the LPGA tour when she missed the cut in the LPGA Tour’s qualifying tournament back in December.

This win in Australia should help her in her bid to play on the ladies tour now. Tiger must be one proud Uncle…..

That’s pretty cool. I’m not a big Tiger Woods fan but Cheyenne seems like a cool girl and is real. Big ups to her on the huge win! She’s a solid journalist too. Keep up the good work LG. – Colin AKA GP Da Prince
