The Chicago White Sox who shut out the Indians 11-0 in last nights game could only watch helplessly as the Detroit Tigers clinched the American League Central. The White Sox who lost 10 out of their last 13 games saw their post season hopes come to an end. The White Sox managed to hold onto first place for 63 days this season, they just couldn’t hold onto it very well when it really counted in the  month of September.

When the going gets tough the tough get going, the White Sox play in one of the weakest divisions in major league baseball, if they could have kept the fire going through September things could have turned out different for the team that looked like it was on the road to a come back. All first year manager Robin Ventura could do as he watched his clubs chances of post season play disappear was to say you end up where you are supposed to end up. The White Sox watched helplessly as they watched from the clubhouse as the Tigers clinched their second divisional title in a row.

Robin Ventura will have to keep his teams heads up high and remind them there is always next year. And what is more fitting than saying that from the Cleveland Indians home field? Progressive Field the home of the Indians should have that saying plastered on the outfield walls. There is always next year could be trade marked by the Indians they use it so much.
