The Texas Rangers had no intention of taking this game into extra innings last night. The Rangers got their offense going and the team looked like a finely tune machine producing run after run. The extra innings win over the Angels just one day earlier was the spark the team needed to get their offense fired up. The Rangers scored almost at will last night. Texas scored 1 run in the first inning, then they had a huge second inning scoring five more runs.

The Angels would try to battle back and they find themselves tied after 4 innings, the Rangers were trailing after the fifth inning and then they would find themselves tied with the Angels after six. That’s when it hit them, they must have thought, hey let’s get this game. We don’t want to play extra innings two nights in a row. The Rangers offense exploded with a 4 run 7th and a 3 run eighth to put this game away. The Angels would score one more run in the 9th. It wasn’t enough to stop the Rangers from getting their 61st win.

Rangers Pitcher Ryan Dempster only made it through 4-2/3rds giving up 8 runs on nine hits. Roy Oswalt would get the win improving his record to 4-2 on the season.
