The Texas Rangers who are clearly one of the best teams in baseball didn’t see this storm coming. The Chicago White Sox beat the Rangers 19-2, the Sox got their offense going with three home runs in the first inning, the Rangers didn’t know what hit them. Youkilis got the home run derby going against the Rangers with a two run shot. Then, Dunn hit a home run to make it 3-0. The Rangers were shell-shocked by the time Rios stepped to the plate and then he smacked one out of the park. By the time the first inning was over the White sox had a 4-0 lead over the team many thought would beat the White Sox with very little problems. The Texas Rangers problems were just getting started.
In the second inning the Rangers would see the White Sox put up three more runs in the second inning. Roy Oswalt the Rangers starter got rocked for 13 runs in 4-2/3’s innings. Many wondered why the Rangers skipper would leave Oswalt out there as long as he did. Oswalt threw 112 pitches in the short time he was in the game. Let me tell you, it didn’t get any better for the Rangers when they pulled Oswalt and put in Yoshinori Tateyama.
Yoshinori Tateyama got a taste of the White Sox hitting power himself. Tateyama pitched 1/3 of an inning gave up five hits for five earned runs. The Rangers were totally embarrassed by Chicago in this game. The Rangers didn’t look like the best team in baseball in this game. The White Sox had a 16-0 lead after five innings. I think the Rangers were hoping the Umpires would invoke the run rule used in amateur soft ball games, call the game if you are trailing by more than 10 runs after five innings. Well that doesn’t happen in M.L.B.. The Rangers would have to ride this roller coaster out until the game was over.
When it was the Rangers looked at the score-board in disbelief when they saw the Chicago White Sox 19 and the Texas Rangers 2..
Hey tell us what you think about the beating the Rangers got by the White Sox…..Leave your comment below….
