The Tampa Bay Rays have to travel to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Cleavland Indians in the wild card game. The Rays beat the Texas Rangers to advance to the wild card game and a loss in Cleveland would eliminate them from the Play-offs.
The Rays have handled the Indians well this season. They beat them 4 out of the 6 times they faced them this season. The Rays still can’t take this Indians team too lightly. This is not the same team they faced in the regular season. The Rays will be facing Danny Salazar who has some great stuff.
If the Rays can’t get off to a quick start, Salazar is the kind of pitcher who gets tougher when his pitch count goes up. The Rays will be starting Cobb and he has done well against the Indians. The Cleveland hitters are also hot and Francona has a bench full of guys that would only be too glad to come into the game and send one of the Rays pitches over the fence.
The Rays lose this game and their season is over. They had tough time with Toronto and this Indians team is a lot better than the Blue Jays are. This is going to be one tough game and then there is the fans to take into consideration. Progressive Field is completely sold out for this Wild Card game and the Indians fans are hungry for some fall play.
The Rays will be going into a hostile environment but hey, that is the game of baseball. This is going to be a great game.
