The Steelers 1-2 face the Eagles 3-1 in what is sure to shape up as a defensive battle. The Pittsburgh defense needs to not only contain Michael Vick, they will have to try to stop LeSean McCoy. The Eagles running game can wear you down. McCoy has already gained rushed for 384 yards on 81 carries. McCoy has the ability to break one lose anytime, if the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to contain him they may have to do it without the help of James Harrison. Pittsburgh’s defense is ranked 5th in total yards this season. The team has played well defensively without their star line backer so far, they can’t afford for their luck to run out when they face the Eagles.

On a positive note the Steelers are coming off a buy week, the defensive unit should be well rested. The buy week could have come at a better time for Pittsburgh. They were hoping Harrison would return to health and would be ready to go in time for the Eagles game. That was before Harrison suffered a minor setback in his healing last week. Harrison reportedly wants to play against the Eagles and the Steelers are said to be listening. If there is any question as to whether or not Harrison is ready to go I would think the Steelers error on the side of being safe, the last thing they want to do is lose Harrison for the rest of the season.

They could have to face the Eagles on Sunday without a James Harrison, only time will tell. If the Steelers are going to win this game, the defense is going to have to step up big. The Pittsburgh Steelers are already trailing the Baltimore Ravens by 2 games and they need this game to keep things within reach. The key to a Steeler victory will be the ability to stop McCoy and Vick.  While the Pittsburgh defense ranks 5th overall, they fall down to 14 against the rush….
