This game was over after the first three innings, the Yankees offense took control from the first inning. Zach Britton didn’t stand a chance and he looked like he was throwing a batting practice before the game. The Yankees came out swinging and before the third inning was over Zach Britton was out of the line-up and the men in pin stripes were up 11-1 over the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees made it look easy as they extended their lead over Baltimore to 6-1/2 games over the Orioles.
The Yankees started the scoring with a Curtis Granderson home run to right field and they never looked back, it was as if they could scored at will for the first three innings. Yankees pitching wasn’t bad either, Phil Hughes pitched for six innings and only gave up one run on nine hits. Then Joba Chamberlain came in and gave up two runs on 4 hits before Clay Rapada and David Robertson came in and closed it down. The Yankees got the win 12-3 and they continue to dominate the American League East.
