The New York Yankees are down to the wire folks, they beat the Boston Red Sox last night in the second inning alone. The Yankees made it look like batting practice as they scored 9 runs in the second inning against the Red Sox, they are hanging onto the A.L. East with a one game lead and you can bet the Red Sox are going to do what they can to try to derail the men in pinstripes. With just 2 games left to play the Yankees are going to have to play their best ball.

The New York fans hope the Yankees didn’t use all of their runs last night, the Yankees opened fire in the second inning hitting 4 home runs, by the time the fire works were over the Yankees put 9 runs on the board. The New York Yankees need to keep winning, with 2 games left to play and the Baltimore Orioles just one game back they can’t afford to let up. The Yankees got some good pitching in last nights game from CC Sabathia who pitched for 8 innings and only allowed 4 hits and 2 home runs while striking out 7 batters.

One thing that could be working in the Yankees favor is the fact the Orioles are playing Tampa Bay. If the Yankees can beat the Red Sox in the 2 games remaining they won’t have a problem taking the A.L. East, lose just one and the Orioles win both of their last games and we could be deadlocked at the top. The Yankees need to continue to dominate the way we saw them do it last night….
