The New York Yankees have reached into their pockets and made a $50,000.00 donation to the East Harlem building explosion victims. Such a nice jester, to show their fellow New Yorker’s, that the men in pin strips have a heart.
The Yankees generosity didn’t stop with the 50 grand, they are helping to give another $15,000.00 dollars as a gift from the New York City Football Club, a MLS soccer team co-owned by the Yankees.
That brings the total given to the Red Cross to $65,000.00.
The funds will be controlled by the Red Cross who have a multi-lingual team on site providing one on one care management to the victims of the March 12th explosion that brought down the building they called home.
A spokesperson from the Red Cross issued the following statement;
On behalf of all those we serve, we thank our generous partners — the New York Yankees and New York City Football Club — for helping to make this possible.”
