The New York Jets took Dee Milliner in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. Many thought the team made a mistake when they traded their shut down corner-back Darrelle Revis, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now by picking Dee Milliner in the 2013 draft, many are wondering if the guy who has had 5 shoulder surgeries can fill the void left open by the Revis trade.
The Jets are trying to build a defense and are completely over looking their offense so far in the draft. Milliner is a good corner-back on the college level, but can he become an immediate impact player in the NFL?
Some say, Milliner is going to go through growing pains. He needs to work on tackling and this could coast the Jets some big plays at times. If Milliner can get some work done in camp to bring himself up to the speed of the NFL, then he could become a play-maker for Rex Ryan’s team.
It is going to be another interesting year in New York. The team lives on controversy and nothing has changed over the off-season. Will Milliner be able to step into the shoes of a great player like Revis? The Jets plan to find out.
