The Indianapolis Colts saw enough value in former Cleveland Browns line-backer D’Qwell Jackson to pay him 22 million dollars over the next 4 seasons. The Colts are bound and determined to get themselves a former Browns player that can actually perform at the NFL level.
After they were hosed into trading away a first round pick, for running back Trent Richardson, we would think the Colts would stay away from Browns. But D’Qwell Jackson isn’t no Trent Richardson. The Colts like him so much, 11 million dollars is guaranteed.
Jackson is a proven NFL veteran who can make a difference on the Colts defense. He is a leader and will help the team develop young talent. He led the Browns in tackles last season and is always around the football. He brings the ability to rush the passer if needed and can play the run fairly well.
D’Qwell should be a Colt, this will be the first time in his NFL career, playing for a team that wins more than they lose. The Browns never really got started win Jackson was there. He spent his entire career with a losing team. The Colts with Luck could actually contend for a Super Bowl, before Jackson’s career in the NFL comes to an end.
You have to wonder if Rob Chudzinski, the former Browns head coach who the Colts hired as Pagono’s special assistant had something to do with Jackson signing in Indianapolis.
