The Cleveland Browns just announced a new deal to bring back the legendary Hall Of Fame running back, Jim Brown and now he will join NFL Total Access for Friday’s NFL News.  The Browns could use a boost of adrenalin these days. The team has to be hoping Brown can provide a spark.

Cleveland has a record of 68-140 since returning to the NFL in 1999. The team as turned over their front office personal and their coaching staff multiple times in the 14 years they’ve been back. Perhaps bringing in a guy like Jim Brown, who can remember when the Browns won a championship, will give some positive reinforcement this team needs.

Mike Lombardi a former employee of the NFL network could have had something to do with Brown’s up-coming appearance on NFL Total access. I just wonder if Brown will be scripted by the teams front office for this appearance or will we see the Jim Brown that is allowed to speak his mind.

There are plenty of distractions in Cleveland this season. With the team owner facing allegations of fraud and racketeering, the hope has to be that Jim Brown can get the focus back on football. The Browns who finished last season with only 5 wins after taking a quarterback in the first round of the draft, face an up-hill battle this season.

Maybe, Jim Brown is going to offer the spark this team needs. At 77-years-old, we have to wonder how much fire Brown has left.
