Adrian Peterson got his very first NFL MVP award. The Minnesota running back edged out the Broncos Peyton Manning and he certainly deserved the award after the season he had. When Peterson took to the microphone to give a little acceptance speech, he said his goal is not to be there next year. He said his goal was to have his teammates and coaches at the Super Bowl in 2014 even though he wants to collect another MVP or 3 to be in the same league as Manning.

Peterson did the improbable, he came back 8 months after a major knee construction surgery and rushed for 2,097 yards just missing the Dickerson single season rushing record by a handful of yards. To come back and have the kind of season Peterson had after the surgery he had is unheard of. Nobody deserved to win the MVP more than he did and I am glad they got it right. Congratulations to Adrian Peterson on the great 2012 season and for becoming the NFL’s MVP…
