Ponte Vedra Beach, FL-  Monday was a quiet day, around the TPC-Sawgrass course. Unlike other tournaments on the PGA Tour, the gates aren’t open for the public until Tuesday. Monday is reserved for the pros to go around the course and practice.

All the quietness, they enjoyed today is about to change. Speaking of change, there were plenty of changes to the course after last years Players Championship. One of those changes was to hole number-12, which is now playing at 302 yards, and will challenge the guys to try to drive the green.

I was able to catch up to Webb Simpson and his Hall of Fame caddy Paul Tesori. Both men liked the course and they think number-12 will be amazing.

There is a sign on the hole, that asks others to allow players to tee off, even when you’re on the green, so it should not slow down play all that much.

Another player I had the pleasure of speaking to today was Anirban Lahiri. He is pumped to be here, and he can’t wait until play starts on Thursday.

The Players is one of those tournaments, you just can’t pick a favorite to win. Sawgrass is a very demanding place to play and those who are familiar with the course, should have a leg up. But you never know, a winner could come from the middle of the pack.

The pros love this tournament, because after all, it is their tournament. But come Thursday they will be all business, and it will be a very interesting 4-days of golf.

Stay tuned folks, I’ll keep ya posted as the week goes on.
