Ted Potter Jr. Is the AT&T Pebble Beach Champion for 2018.

Firing a 4 round total of -17 under par gave him a 3 shot victory over a 4 way tie for 2nd place.

This is Ted’s second PGA Tour win and it hasn’t come since 2012 when he won the Greater Greensboro Open.

Since that time Ted broke his ankle and wasn’t sure if he could actually come back.

Playing with Dustin Johnson meant giving up about 40 yards on every drive to DJ. Potter held it together and played fairway, green, and some nice putts.

It was kind of nice to see somebody knock off a long hitter.

Usually that distance really widens the gap but with steady Teddy it didn’t make a difference today!

The Pro-Am team at the top blew EVERYBODY away. Kevin Streelman and Larry Fitzgerald ended up in 2nd place last year.

This year they WON by 7 shots over Chez Reavie and his Mateus partner.

Streelman/Fitzgerald fired an amazing -47 under par for the tournament and will have their names on the Champions plaque at Pebble Beach forever.

Today showed us the fastest greens we have ever seen at Pebble Beach.

This whole week the greens were difficult to putt but, today they were all incredibly slick which makes the breaks even worse than normal.

I have to mention poor Troy Merritt’s second shot on #18 because it was lost in a tree.

Yes near the green on the right side is a tree just growing up and minding its own business.

Troy hit a very high shot and it came straight down into the tree and got caught on a branch.

He had to walk all the way back to where he played the previous shot and ended up with the dreaded snowman (8). Really cost him a lot of cash!!

2nd place was a real Who’s Who of golf. Phil Mickelson, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, & Chez Reavie all ended in a tie at -14 under par for the Tournment.

If you enjoyed this week hang on to your seats for next week at Riviera CC in Pacific Palisades, California.

It’s the Genesis Open and one I enjoy each year. Defending Champ is Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods is playing. Going to be a blast.

Who knows maybe a Tiger win????? You just never know. Have fun watching.
