The best thing that happened to Tiger Woods was because of the watchful eye of fellow PGA Professional Steve Stricker. Woods had one of the lowest putting rounds of his career at Doral in the Cadillac championship to pick up his 17th world golf championship win and his 76th win on the PGA tour.
Steve Stricker finished in second place 2 strokes behind Woods. The rest of the field was trying to catch Tiger in the final round at Doral and they couldn’t do it despite Woods not having his best round on Sunday.
Stricker actually beat Tiger in the 4th round but it just wasn’t enough to catch Tiger who was doing well because of Stricker’s watchful eye on the putting green. There aren’t too many sports where a competitor gives you a tip that helps another player beat him.
That is exactly what Stricker did for Tiger, he fixed his putting which has been broken for a long time. Now we have to wonder with the Masters approaching in less than a month if Tiger will be able to run away with another major.
Woods didn’t have his finest ball striking day in his 4th round from Doral, he did have a large enough lead starting the 4th round not to worry about the 2 bogeys he made in the final 3 holes get in his way of winning his 76th event on the PGA Tour. It could be that Tiger is back, this is his second win on tour this season.
