Russell Henley won the Honda Classic on a day that saw a bit of everything. Henley was able to hold on long enough to get into a 4 man play-off that included Rory McIlroy, the man who led this tournament for every round.

Henley hit a great shoot into the 18th green in the play off and McIlroy over-shot the green and ended up in the bunker over the green It was a bunker shot that McIlroy normally leaves close to the hole.

Apparently, McIlroy caught a little stone between his club face and the ball come out of the bunker with little to no spin. His ball went past the hole and into the first cut and came to rest against the fringe.

All Henley had to do was watch as the others missed their birdie attempts and he was within a few feet of making birdie and winning the tournament. He wtahced as McIlroy hit a poor chip and then putted in for par.

He watched as Ryan Palmer putted his ball past the hole and he them stepped up and made his birdie to win the sudden death over-time and take the Honda Classic.

After the round Henley said he was able to feed off the crowd and he loves these types of moments. He also said this win hasn’t sunk in yet and it will hit him later on tonight.
