Every Wednesday at the RSM Classic hosted by Davis Love III at 4:00 is one of the coolest events I get to cover.

It is the Charity Putting Event which features PGA Tour professionals, Special Olympic athletes, & Boys and Girls Club participants.

12 PGA Tour pros participated. We had Dru Love, Ryan Armour, Ben Crane, Tom Hoge, Rick Lamb, Chris DeMarco, Troy Merritt, Trey Mullinax, Jonathan Randolph, Shawn Stefani, Brian Stuard, & Michael Thompson.

They, along with their teammates, played 12 holes on the practice greens at Sea Island Club.

There were some wild holes set up with pieces of drift wood, rocks, & sand making the holes pretty tough.

It was just amazing to watch and I am not sure who had more fun the pros or the amateurs.

Matt Adams from the golf channel broadcasted it with his mic and speakers. It was exciting and Matt really does a great job each time he mc’s.

Even though it was a 12 hole par 24 course we had 6 teams tie with a 23.

3 teams were taken out because of trying to use the Scorecards to find a winner. It was so cool because we had 3 teams that had the same score hole by hole.

That meant a playoff on the long #12 hole.

All the amateurs hit nice putts but the pro Ryan Armour drilled it Home to take the title for his team. Beautiful trophies were handed out and everybody went home happy.

It really was moving to see and I won’t ever miss one!
