Round 2 at the OHL Mayakoba Classic has been suspended due to darkness Friday evening and will continue at 7:30 Saturday morning.

Some players still have several holes to play. Patrick Rodgers got in 15 holes and is in first place at -11 under par.

Rodgers is playing great golf and started on the back nine with a 32 that put 3 birdies and 6 pars on his card.

Heading on the the first nine he has completed 6 holes and is currently holding on to a string of 4 birdies in a row.

Patton Kizzire finished his round at -10 under par and is currently in a tie for 2nd place with Rickie Fowler who also completed 15 holes.

Rickie started on hole number one and shot a -3 under par 33 on the front nine.

He is currently -1 under par on the back nine with a bogey 5 on hole # 14.

Everyone in Mexico is saying thank goodness Rickie Fowler decided to play this week because he really helped the “wrap around” tournament to draw a good crowd.

This final group of tournaments have a real difficult time drawing a strong field.

It is the end of the season and most of the big names are looking forward to taking some well deserved time off and getting their batteries recharged for 2018.

The PGA Champions Tour Charles Schwab Cup Championship is being played this week at the Phoenix CC in Phoenix Arizona this week.

After round one we have a 3 way tie at -7 under par.

Lee Janzen, Paul Goydos, & VJ Singh all sitting atop the scoreboard at -7 under par.

It’s nice to see some new names at the top of the leader board and everyone concerned with John Daly can stop worrying because “Long John” fired a really nice -2 under par round today.

Fan favorite Gene Sauers is in a tie for 31st at a +1 total of 72. He stumbled with 2 double bogies but expects to wipe those out with several birdies in round 2.
