Robert Griffin III is one of the best rookie quarterbacks in the NFL and he is black. Does this give Rob Parker who is black himself the right to question just how black RGIII is? Parker went on the air Thursday on the First Take show asking the question “if Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is “a brother or is he a cornball brother?” Even Skip Bayless asked what that was supposed to mean. Parker really over stepped his boundaries with this question. What would have happened if a white guy asked that question?

Parker went on to say, “Well, he’s black, he kind of does his thing. But he’s not really down with the cause, he’s not one of us,” Parker answered Bayless. “He’s kind of black. But he’s not really the guy you’d really want to hang out with because he’s off to do something else.”

What does Parker expect out of RGIII? This guy is going over the edge with this race thing. This is 2012 and the just how black are you question is getting old. Parker went on to put his foot deeper into his mouth by saying, “Well, because I want to find out about him. I don’t know, because I keep hearing these things,” replied Parker, again implying that he was merely voicing concerns that were already being discussed. “We all know he has a white fiancee. There was all this talk about he’s a Republican, which, there’s no information at all. I’m just trying to dig deeper as to why he has an issue.”

It is obvious a guy like Parker has his own issues with race. RGIII is a great example of a great work ethic and he is a solid example of a guy who is thankful for what he has and how to achieve it. I don’t think RGIII has an issue with his race at all. A guy like Parker should keep his stupid opinions to himself….

Robert Griffin Jr. RGIII’s father who is a military Veteran had this to say about Parker’s stupid comments,

Robert Griffin II, a military veteran, told Jim Corbett of USA Today that he was baffled by Parker’s comments but didn’t want to fire back. RG2 addressed what Parker said.

“He needs to define what ‘one of us’ is. That guy needs to define that,” RG2 said. “I wouldn’t say it’s racism. I would just say some people put things out there about people so they can stir things up.

“Robert is in really good shape on who he is, where he needs to get to in order to seek the goals he has in life … so I don’t take offense.”
