Rickie Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau are tied for the second round lead at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

They are locked at -10 under par after 36 holes.

Fowler started out with 4 birdies on the front nine and fired a 31. He played the back in -1 under par fashion and had 3 birdies and 2 bogeys.

He is really looking good and this is his 11th consecutive round at 70 or below in this tournament!

DeChambeau has only had 1 bogey in the first 36 holes and that came on the 14th today. 11 birdies and only one bogey the first two days. He is looking great as well!

Bryson finished strong by birdies on 17 & 18. Capped off the day by rolling in an 8 footer for his birdie 3 on #18.

In third all alone is Daniel Berger sitting at -9 under after Friday’s round.

Solid golf puts him in the final pairing with Fowler & DeChambeau.

This is getting good! 3 friends going out Saturday afternoon wanting to beat the crap out of each other……on the course that is!

Hole #16 is obviously where everyone wants to sit and be seen! This afternoon there was a 3 hour wait to get into the cheap seats where only 3,500 patrons can sit.

If you happen to have sky box tickets you can get up there right away!

The record for attendance for a Friday round was set today with 191,400 people watching the action.

My hat’s off to the people who are in charge of the busses and getting the folks safely to and from the tournament.

Transportation is a tough and they seemed to have broken the code on how to transport that many people.

Our multiple past champion Phil Mickelson is obviously the #1 fan favorite and he kept moving up the leader-board.

He is sitting in a T8 currently at -7 under. He shot a -6 under par 65 today to tie the low score for the day fired by only a couple others, Adam Hadwin, Scott Stallings, & Daniel Berger.

“Phil The Thrill” capped off his round by firing 4 birdies in a row the final 4 holes.

Amazing……………..he has still got it!

I remember being with Bryson DeChambeau on Hilton Head Island at the Harbour Town Golf Links the afternoon he announced that he signed with Cobra /Puma.

I asked him how exciting it will be going neck and neck against Rickie. He grinned and said he couldn’t wait and what a “great ambassador for golf” Rickie is.

Nice compliment and so true. Tune in tomorrow. It’s gonna get good!
