Tuesday at the RBC Heritage played at, Harbour Town Golf Links was cool and rainy, unlike the normal 75 degree weather on Hilton Head this time of year.

Many of the top players didn’t let the rain stop them from practicing and trying to get in 9 or 18 holes of play today.

We saw Zach Johnson, Graeme McDowell, Davis Love III, and about 100 other PGA pros put on their rain suits and hit balls for hours.

Some were just getting ready for the BIG pro-am Wednesday.

Several just wanted to get out and play the course and get a feel for it before Thursday’s first round.

The weather is going to be improving all week and the only real chance of more rain is on Sunday.

We had a few people who had to bow out of the tournament. Branden Grace had a good excuse for not playing because his wife is due any day now.

Steve Stricker said he was going to play at the last-minute and then backed out. No reason was given for his decision.

Boo Weekely who has won this event twice before had originally committed to play and then suddenly decided not to play.

Steve Marino became the happiest guy yesterday when Vijay Singh backed out and Marino was the first alternate. He’s in and totally pumped about playing in the RBC Heritage, this week.

I am so excited to see Steve Scott in action. Steve is a club pro and hasn’t played in a PGA Tour event for years.

You may remember his fantastic duel with Tiger Woods in the 1996 US Amateur Championship when he had Tiger down but Tiger came back and won in the playoff.

That gave Woods his third consecutive US Amateur title and he turned pro right after that win.

The second place finish did get Scott an invite to the Masters. That was an experience he will never forget.

Davis Love talked to us at his press conference today and was as upbeat and approachable as always.

His son Dru Love was given a sponsor’s exemption to play and when asked how is dad would feel if they were both in contention on Sunday, Dru said his father would play as hard as he could to win.

Davis then added that he would still be pulling for Dru though. Great family but, a competitive family in the Love household.
