While the FBI and other investigators are searching for evidence that could tie Aaron Hernandez to multiple murders, the police were searching a lake in Connecticut for the gun Hernandez may have used in the latest murder he is accused of carrying out.

Police got a tip that the gun may have been used may have been dumped in the lake. Photos have surfaced that showed Hernandez holding a gun at his home the night Odin Lloyd was killed, but they have not been able to find the murder weapon.

Police were searching  Pine Lake in Bristol after receiving a tip from someone that the .45-caliber Glock, used to kill Lloyd was tossed in the lake. Police were uncertain whether the tip was valid, but followed through on it. The search could continue on Tuesday.

If they find the gun and they can tie it to the weapon used to murder Lloyd and prove it belongs to Hernandez, they would have an air tight case against the former NFL player that could send him away for the rest of his life.

Connecticut police won’t comment on the search but referred all questions to the Massachusetts prosecutors.  It will be interesting to see if they can come up with the murder weapon. Hernandez thinks he is smarter than anyone else. Yet he was dump enough to commit a crime with far too many witnesses around him.

The guy had the world by the short ones and he threw it all away.
