Not many took the San Diego Chargers and Philip Rivers very serious heading into Cincinnati to play the Bengals who haven’t lost game all season at home. Those people made a mistake.
The Chargers beat the Bengals 27-10 and handed Cincinnati their first home loss of the season. The Chargers also handed Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos their first loss at home.
The Chargers are a dangerous team who now earned a chance to travel back to the Mile High city to take on the Broncos. Rivers said after the win, the Chargers have been in play-off mode for the past 5 weeks.
The team knew what they had to do to get in the play offs and they did it, and now they now what they have to do to stay in the play offs. The Chargers defense beat Peyton Manning up a bit when they faced Denver.
Now, the Broncos are going to have their hands full trying to stop the Chargers who are running on a very high confidence level. San Diego made it look easy to beat the Bengals in the wild card game.
Rivers didn’t have to do all that much. The Chargers defense was playing great and they created turn over that allowed the Chargers to take control of the game and never look back.
Rivers threw for only 128 yards completing 12 of 16 and 1 touchdown. The Chargers ran for almost 200 yards and they controlled the game well. Rivers and the Chargers are looking forward to the trip to Mile High and that makes them a dangerous team.
