Phil Mickelson played a great final round of golf at the Open Championship today. His 5 under par 66 was one of the lowest rounds of the tournaments. He played 16-17 & 18 in fine style. All week long he played smart golf and this round today should give him yet another major championship to add to his collection.

Mickelson hit a great three wood into 17 and his tap in birdie that gave him some great momentum going to the 18th tee, it was his to lose with a 2 stroke lead heading into his final hole of the championship.

He hit a great tee shot and then a nice iron shot onto the 18th green. Winning just a week ago in Scotland gave Mickelson the confidence he needed heading into the Open Championship. He hit his putt on 18 and he made his final birdie and his face and reaction told the story.

At 43-years-old Phil Mickelson would add another major to his great career. He played smart and he will be holding the trophy in just a few minutes to prove that he still can compete with the very best players from around the world in a major championship.

Phil Mickelson played great and he deserves to win the Open Championship. It is the 3rd leg of his career grand slam. Nobody deserves it more than Phil Mickelson.
