The New York Yankees are in a dog fight for the A.L. East. It seems like the Baltimore Orioles just won’t go away. The Yankees got a 2-0 win over the Red Sox to get back into a tie at the top of the A.L. East with the Orioles. The Yankees have won their last two and they got an excellent effort from starter Phil Hughes last night. Hughes pitched for 7-1/3 innings didn’t give up any runs and had 7 strikeouts.

The Yankees were able score 2 runs against Felix Doubront who got the start for the Boston Red Sox last night. Doubront pitched for 6-13 innings, he gave up 4 hits and 2 runs. The problem for Doubront was he couldn’t control the strike zone giving up 5 walks and he struck out 5. The Yankees have got to keep winning to stay in the race for the top spot. It would be a waste of a good season if they fail to miss the play-offs.
