Peyton Manning threw 7 touchdown passes against the World Champion Baltimore Ravens. The Broncos beat the Ravens 49-27 in the NFL’s epic rematch that turned out not to be a match at all. The Broncos ran away with the game behind the arm of one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
Manning set a record throwing for 7 touchdowns in the game. The first quarter looked like it was going to be a close game. The Broncos went into the locker room trailing the Ravens by 3 points. They came out in the second half and completely dominated the game.
It took Manning just 2:30 to get his Broncos into the end zone in the 3rd quarter. There were concerns about the Broncos defense coming into the game missing a couple of their key players. The defense was able to hang in there and they actually played a good game.
The performance of the 37-year-old Manning proves that his arm is just fine for the 2013 season. Some thought he wasn’t throwing the ball with much zip on it and those with doubts can put them to rest after seeing Manning throw for 7 touchdowns and 462 yards.
He looks pretty good from where I was sitting. Manning is one of the best the game has ever seen. The guy is a proven leader and he gets better with age. The Ravens defense got to Manning 3 times and he was able to get back up and control the game.
The Broncos only rushed the football for a total of 65 yards and showed the rest of the NFL that Manning was better than 100%. His arm put the Broncos in the end zone 7 times and that is a performance we should never forget. The Broncos are going to be the force experts said they would be in the 2013 season.
