Everybody wanted to head to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico to play in the OHL Mayaloba Classic for the warm weather and beautiful scenery.

They got their wish at the beautiful Playa Del Carmen resort!!!!!

Patton Kizzire the big long hitter heads the favorites by lot of strokes!

He led off the front nine in a stellar -4 under par 32 and made the back look like a putt-putt course until his bogey on 18.

5 birdies on the back nine even with a bogey ended in a 30.

A -9 under par 62 was a great way to start The tournament that’s for sure!!

Last year’s champion, Pat Perez came thru with a fantastic -4 under par 67. Nice round with only 3 bogies getting in his way today.

Rickie Fowler, the fan favorite, ended up 3 behind at -6 under par and is sitting in a prominent position to head into the weekend.

I really am still thinking Pat Perez will defend his title because he is playing some of his finest golf of his career.

Coming off his win at the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur a month ago anything is possible.

I sure hope all eyes will be on the Champions tour Charles Schwab Cup finals this weekend at the Phoenix Country Club in Phoenix Arizona this weekend.

We all know that Bernard Langer is the favorite to win again but, I’m pulling for the comeback player of the year Gene Sauers.

After winning the Ben Hogan award earlier this year, he was presented he was presented the PGA Tour Courage Award this week and we are all so proud of his accomplishments and of course his “rock”, his wife Tammy!!

She deserves so much of his award and Gene will tell you that.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see him win the final event and be crowned champion!!!!!
