Patrick Reed took a 3 stroke lead into Sunday’s final round at the Augusta National over Rory McIlroy and held off Rory and some of golf’s greatest super stars to win the Masters golf Championship!

Reed fired a solid 71 today and Rory could do no better than a 73, but Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth came on strong to challenge him til the end.

Fowler fired a 67 to end up in sole second place.

Spieth ended up in third place with an 8 under par 64.

Patrick Reed is known as “Captain America” because of his stellar play for the USA in his Ryder Cup matches.

I think his new name should be “Bull Dog”, he is like a dog with a bone, he just will not let up. Every time he bogeyed a hole he fired a birdie a couple of holes later.

We all thought Rory was going to complete his Grand Slam but it was not to be, at least not this year.

The Grand Slam is the greatest accomplishment in Golf with only 5 guys in the history of the game attaining this feat.

Gene Sarazen was the first, than Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and finally Tiger Woods.

The next guy to try to qualify for the Grand Slam is Phil Mickelson at the US Open.

Jordan Spieth will give it a shot later to try to win the PGA.

Tiger Woods made a nice showing playing in his first Major in 2 1/2 years and ended up +1 over par with a 72 hole total of 289.

This has been a Masters to be remembered with so many golfers reeling off 4 or 5 birdies in a row.

Phil ” The Thrill” shot a beautiful 5 under par 67 today to end up +2 for the tournament!

Paul Casey fired 4 birdies and an eagle all in a row to shoot a -7 under par 65 today.

Another wonderful Masters.

Look out for next week! We will be at the RBC Heritage presented by Boeing on beautiful Hilton Head Island.

The outstanding conditions of the Harbour Town Golf Links is amazing.

The field this year is incredible and it is the 50th anniversary of this wonderful tournament.

Tune in and be ready for some special golf!
