What an incredible 3 way playoff at the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas!

It looked like nobody wanted to win.

Patrick Cantlay, Alex Cejka, & Whee Kim all went back to the 18th tee and all 3 proceeded to bogey the hole.

Back to 18 they went and totally running out of sunlight because of the time change that happened early Sunday morning.

They all headed back to the 18th tee for the second time.

Kim proceeds to hit his drive way left in the rocks. He could do no better than a double bogey 6 after an unplayable lie penalty.

Alex decided to have a brain freeze and flew it out to the right but was sitting ok to be able to get it close and hopefully get a par.

In the mean time Cantlay was on the right side behind a tree.

He debated whether to punch out to the fairway but looking straight ahead his caddy said a low fade long will be ok. He did just that and went over the green but in the short cut he still had a chance for a par.

Cejka decided to hit a little chip from the rough for his third shot.

He hit down too steeply with the wedge and his shot actually checked up and did not roll out to the hole.

Cantlay used his putter from a ways off the green and JUST missed the birdie and was left with a tap in birdie.

Cejka didn’t hit a good putt at all and ended with another bogey.

Patrick tapped in his par 4 for his first win on tour.

What an interesting young man who has gone thru so much in his short 25 years of age.

He was once the number 1 amateur in the world and people related him to Jordan Spieth.

He struggled with injuries and after working thru all that, 2 years ago while bar hopping with his best friend and caddy the unspeakable happened.

His caddy was crossing the street with him and a female hit his caddy and killed him.

The driver took off and was eventually caught and charged with vehicular homicide and fleeing the scene of an accident!

Patrick ran over and called 911, he tried to help his best friend but he was gone.

The first officer came to the scene and asked Patrick if he wanted a towel.

Patrick didn’t even realize he was covered with his best friend’s blood.

I have so much respect for this young man and I sincerely see him winning a lot more events on the PGA Tour and hopefully many Majors will be coming in the near future.
