Oklahoma Sooners guard Isaiah Cousins, was shot in the shoulder. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery. apparently, he was hit by a stray bullet, from one of 2 shots that were fired by one of two warring street gangs.

Cousins started every game for the Sooners last season. He is a valuable member of the team. He averaged 11 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists during the 2013-14 season. He is lucky the bullet caught him in the shoulder.

Had it been a couple of inches over, it could have hit him in the neck. Cousins, a Mount Vernon, New York native, who didn’t expect to be hit by a stray bullet.

We are living in scary times. People are shot all the time by these gangs, yet the American citizens, don’t want tighter gun control.

The police made a statement saying; the war between the street gangs started Monday night when Tyshaw Gentle, 18, of Mount Vernon, and a reputed member of the Goonies, fired several shots, striking three cars.

It wasn’t believed that anyone in Cousins group was being targeted. It was just an Unlucky break for Cousins. Thanks God he will be alright. The Sooners can use his talents this season. He is a solid player and is pretty consistent too.

This should keep him off the streets for a while.
