Rainy conditions on Saturday barely let the field finish the 2nd round at the OHL Classic in what is normally sunny Mexico.

The 3rd round was scheduled to resume at 7:15 Sunday morning. Looks like the fellows will be playing 36 holes on Sunday to get this tournament in the books.

Rickie Fowler is currently sitting at the top of the leader board at -10 under par.

He was able to finish round 2 and took it easy yesterday afternoon enjoying the movie “Baywatch” while others watched documentaries and many movies.

Vaughn Taylor, the young man from Augusta Georgia, is also tied currently with Fowler.

They need to get this tournament complete because several of the guys are scheduled to compete this next week at the RSM hosted by Davis Love III at the gorgeous Sea Island Club on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

The field this coming week, if everybody shows up, seems to be the strongest in recent years.

Many of the newcomers who recently got their card will be playing but Davis must have asked a few guys to come and test the waters with him.

Ernie Els is scheduled to compete along with Padraig Harrington, Bubba Watson, Zach Johnson, KJ Choi and a load of others.

It will be a blast this coming week and fun to see some of the new guys playing alongside some of our old veterans.

Couple more exciting players scheduled to compete are Luke Donald, “Beef” Johnston, & Retief Goosen. My goodness what an exciting week.

I urge any golf fans in the area to come out and support this tournament. It donates millions of dollars to the needy children on and around St. Simons Island.

The PGA Champions tour event is the Charles Schwab Cup is is being held at the Phoenix CC in Phoenix Arizona.

Paul Goydos is leading this star-studded field at -12 under par.

Right on his heels is Lee Janzen at -11 under. Even John Daly is showing he has some life left in him. Long John is in a tie for 10th place at -7 under par.

Our favorite “hometown” hero, Gene Sauers is currently tied for 30th position sitting at -1 under par. Gene needs a big round today to move up the leader-board!!
