Manti Te’o is still one of the best linebackers to play the game at the college level. Te’o may have been the center of a sick hoax, but that does change the fact that he is one of the best players in the NCAA. Te’o has become the center of a internet hoax, he made up a cyber girlfriend who was reported to die on the same day his grandmother passed away. It turns out that the women never died. Does that change the fact of what Te’o did on the football field? No. Te’o plays the game with intensity. He is still going to make the transition into the NFL and will be drafted very high in the draft.
Te’o is embarrassed and humiliated by the story that broke late yesterday afternoon. The Notre Dame university held a press conference saying Te’o was the victim of a “elaborate hoax.” And Te’o, the Heisman Trophy runner-up, released a statement saying he was embarrassed that he was the victim of a “sick joke.” The University said Te’o is one of the most trusting people they have ever seen, they went on to say he may never be that trusting again.
