Bubba Watson did what only one man named Arnold Palmer did, he won his second green jacket at the 2014 Masters. Watson is what you would call his own kind of player. And with the way this guy plays at Augusta National, we should be seeing him put on more of those green jackets.
Watson is a self-taught player who rips the hell out of a golf ball. He chips and putts as well as anyone on the PGA tour and he should be around contending at Augusta for a very long time. I could see Watson winning the Masters for years to come.
He marched through his final round at the 2014 Masters in a way Arnie would have done it. Watson was calm, cool and collected. He knew what he had to do and he was able to do it. Matching his playing competitors birdies on the front nine was huge.
Bubba applied the pressure and his playing partner wasn’t able to keep up with him. Watching Watson take his victory lap around the 18th green, holding his son, who was only weeks old for his first Masters championship, showed the confidence of a guy who plans on having a closet full of green jackets.
He plays gold his way and Watson should win a few more Masters Championships, doing it his way before it is all said and done. He is a fantastic golfer and if he continues to play the way he did in the 2014 Maters, his confidence is only going to get stronger at Augusta.
